#PFW: CHANEL SPRING/SUMMER 2013
Leave it to Karl Lagerfeld to give us the most innovative and creative presentation of every show this season. For Chanel Spring/Summer 2013, models strut their stuff down a runway made of solar panels between thirteen full sized wind turbines. The designer’s explanation was whimsical in the extreme: “I started sketching in Central Park, and it was so hot that I wanted fresh air,”
The collection featured a series of strapless white column dresses with intricate embroidery in floral patterns, shorts in sportswear mesh fabric, and rainbow jackets. The famous 2.55 handbag was also reconstructed into a half moon in-between two enormous hula hoops (one of our favorite pieces). An overall beautiful show with beautiful pieces.
